OSHU faces a lawsuit from Dr. Bryce Cleary. When he was a medical student in 1989, he says he and other doctors were encouraged to donate sperm to the hospital's fertility clinic.
He was told no more than five children would be created and they'd be on the East Coast.
Cleary was running a genealogy test when he learned 17 children had been created and they were all in the Portland area.
Many of the children were in the same communities leading to the risk they could have had children of their own without knowing they're related.
Cleary says it was deceitful and fraudulent of OHSU.
He's suing the hospital for $5.25 million.
