A float plane crashed in the Deschutes River near Sunriver on Saturday killing one person.
When police and firefighters arrived several people were in the river near the plane. A person who had been in the plane was able to escape and the other people were in the water trying to rescue a second person in the plane.
Deschutes County Marine Patrol divers located the second person in the plane and that person had died.
Witnesses say the plane had taken off from Sunriver Airport when it flipped upside down in the river.
The NTSB will investigate the cause of the crash.
