I-405 Northbound Ramp To I-5 Will Close

The ramp from northbound Interstate 405 to southbound Interstate 5 on the Fremont Bridge will be closed this weekend as part of the I-405 Ramps Project.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, the ramp will be closed with re-opening scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 13.

Weekend travelers should be watch out for delays or find an alternate route.

The closures are part of a broad ODOT effort to repair and replace a number of joints on the freeway ramps along I-405. Construction began March 2019 and will last through the fall of 2020, with lane and ramp closures expected on about 25 weekends during that time frame.

Other traffic impacts including nighttime lane and ramp closures, weekend daytime single lane closures, local road impacts and extended closures of the ramps from U.S. 30 east to I-405 north and south.

  • The work includes:
  • Replacing or repairing forty-two freeway joints on I-405.
  • New concrete surfaces near replaced joints and on these three sections of freeway ramps:
  • U.S. 30 east to I-405 north
  • U.S. 30 east to I-405 south
  • I-405 north to U.S. 26 west

These repairs will improve the condition of the ramps and maintain the long-term safety of this heavily traveled freeway.
