Oregon City Police say a woman who was hit and killed Wednesday was in a crosswalk.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Molalla Ave. at Pearl Street.

An Oregon City patrol officer arrived with 30 seconds after being dispatched and located the female pedestrian lying in the roadway.

The woman was given first aid, but she died at the scene.

A preliminary investigation reveals the driver of a Toyota Truck was turning left from westbound Pearl Street onto southbound Molalla Avenue when the driver struck 51-year-old Josefina Rojas-Bernadino, of Gresham, who was crossing Molalla Ave. in the crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured, remained on scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.
