A driver trying to outrun a Portland Police officer crashed killing his passenger.
The incident started at 11 p.m. when a police officer tried to pull over a vehicle near Southeast 124th and Division.
The driver wouldn't stop and fled. The officer didn't pursue, but a few blocks later near Southeast 122nd and Division the car crashed and hit a pole.
The passenger was killed. The driver ran from the scene, but was caught a block away.
The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle was stolen.
