142nd Fighter Wing Mobilized

112 Airmen from the 142nd Fighter Wing mobilized on Saturday for duty to support United States Africa Command.

They will also be supporting United States Central Command and other international missions.

As part of the official party during the ceremony, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon and Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read, representing Oregon Governor Kate Brown, joined Maj. Gen. Michael Stencel, Adjutant General, Oregon, and Col. Adam Sitler, 142nd Fighter Wing Commander, as they delivered remarks to recognize the Airmen, their families, and others in attendance for the event.

"We are a reserve component that is relevant, always ready, and very proud to represent the United States and the State of Oregon in this manner,” said Col. Todd Hofford, 142nd Fighter Wing Vice Commander. “We instill in our Airmen a sense of pride and conviction in our mission here and when the opportunity presents itself, they rise to the challenge to accomplish that mission.”
