2019 Portland Womxn's March & Rally For Action

This year's theme for the Womxn's March & Rally for Action is to Educate, Engage and Empower womxn to fight for positive change and equality. The event is being held this Sunday in the South Park Blocks at Portland State University from noon until 3 p.m.

There will be six speakers at the march, including keynote speaker Multnomah County Commissioner Susheela Jayapal, and Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici.

Jayapal is the first South Asian to hold county office in Oregon and her district is the most diverse in Multnomah County. Before holding office, she worked with several Portland social justice organizations.

Bonamici represents Oregon's First Congressional District and chairs the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Human Services. She was also recently appointed to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.

There will also be booths at the event where people can engage with local nonprofits and social justice organizations.

The rally is at 12 p.m. and the march begins at 1 p.m.
