When fire broke out in a house on Northeast 160th Avenue and Everett in Portland early Wednesday morning three people were able to escape, but a woman died in the fire.

A neighbor helped a child get out through a window.

Rich Chatman, with the Portland Fire Bureau, says the fire traveled fast.

The three people who escaped the fire were treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
