Storm Could Bring Strong Winds Saturday Night

Strong winds are expected at the Coast and in the Willamette Valley Saturday evening from a storm arriving from the South.

The National Weather Service forecasts the storm will move through quickly and the winds will last less than three hours.

A High Wind Warning is posted for the Coast with winds gusting to 60 m.p.h.

A Wind Advisory is posted for the Willamette Valley with winds of 25 to 35 m.p.h. and gusts to 50 m.p.h.

Winds of this strength are likely to cause tree damage and power outages.

Snow levels start out near the passes, but lower overnight to 2000 - 3000 feet in the cold air behind the low pressure   system. Snow and gusty winds will affect the passes with locally heavy and rapid accumulations Saturday night. There may be a brief break in the snow Sunday morning, but another round appears likely by afternoon.
