A man was wounded Saturday morning in an apparent domestic violence shooting.

Police were originally called to a residence near Southwest 35th Avenue near Taylors Ferry Road on a report of stolen license plates.

Shortly after the original call was dispatched, a complainant told a 9-1-1 call-taker she had received a phone call from her domestic partner telling her that he was on his way to the residence to harm the family.

As officers arrived, they learned that the subject approached the complainant's residence and was shot by another family member from inside the residence.

Officers placed the shooting subject into custody without incident. Officers rendered first aid to the victim of the shooting who was then transported by ambulance to an area hospital with what was believed to be serious physical injuries.

Members with the Portland Police Bureau Family Services Division's Domestic Violence Reduction Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
