OR 22 Reopens At Detroit Following Landslide

ODOT crews worked fast to remove 300 yards of mud and rocks that covered Highway 22 near Detroit.

The landslide happened around 5 p.m. Friday and covered most of the road. The slide occurred between the Breitenbush Bridge and the turn for Breitenbush.

There are no alternate routes for a detour, so drivers would have to use US 26 or Highway 58 to get to Central Oregon.

Crews had enough of the debris removed around 2 p.m. to reopen the highway.

Work continued to remove debris on the side of the road.

No one was injured in the landslide.
