A 19-year-old man accused of stabbing someone during armed robbery in Southwest Portland is expected to appear in court Wednesday.

Police say Saul Vela pulled a gun on three people waiting at the MAX platform Tuesday morning at First and Oak Street and tried to rob them.

Police say two other suspects walked up and confronted the victims a short while later, police said.

Two of the victims ran, but the third was stabbed. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police searched the area and detained two people matching descriptions for the suspects.

Vela was arrested and is facing first degree robbery and assault charges.

Vela is being held on $500,000 bail for the felony charges.
