The boyfriend of a Vancouver mother is being charged with the murder of her five-year-old daughter.
Friday afternoon, medical personnel were called to the Madison Park Apartments, at 12901 NE 28th St., on a report of a five-year-old girl who had suffered a severe injury.
The suffered severe injuries to her head.
Vancouver Police responded and questioned 37-year-old Ryan Burge who had been watching the girl.
Her family identified her as Hartley Anderson.
She was first transported to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center and then she was transferred to Randall Children's Hospital in Portland where she later died.
Burge told police she injured herself having a tantrum.
Police arrested Burge on a charge of Murder in the Second degree and Assault.
