The ramps connecting Interstate 84 and Interstate 5 will see night and weekend closures in the coming weeks as ramp renovation and rehabilitation continues.
No ramps will be closed from Saturday Nov. 17 through Monday Nov. 26, through Thanksgiving week.
Here is a look at the schedule.
- The ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to eastbound Interstate 84 will be closed nights and weekends --- 10 p.m. Fridays until 5 a.m. Mondays -- through the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 21.
- The ramp from westbound I-84 to northbound I-5 will be closed nights and weekends -- 10 p.m. Fridays through 5 a.m. Mondays -- until the morning of Saturday Nov. 17. Further work will be needed on this ramp in January.
- The ramp from westbound I-84 to southbound I-5 will be closed nights and weekends beginning Monday Nov. 26. There will be four weekend closures of that ramp - 10 p.m. Fridays through 5 a.m. Mondays -- in the period through Monday Jan. 14.
The schedule is subject to change depending on the weather.
The work involves reconstruction of these critical ramps where I-5 and I-84 meet, the busiest interchange in the state. The work is necessary to keep these ramps healthy and to ensure this part of the regional transportation system continues to function safely in the decades to come.
