Update: Salem Police found and arrested Mark Alvarado Thursday night.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office needs your help to find Mark Alvarado who walked away from the Marion County Transition Center.
44-year-old Mark Alvarado is described as 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds.
Alvarado was being held at the Transition Center on a Probation Violation for not reporting to his probation officer.
The Marion County Transition Center is a minimum custody facility that houses up to 144 inmates that are transitioning from jail back into the community. The Transition Center offers programs as well as work opportunities for the inmates that are housed in the facility. The overall plan for the inmates living in the Transition Center is to get them involved in programs as well as develop a smooth transition back into the community.
The Sheriff's Office is asking the public to call Marion County Dispatch at 503-588-5032 if you see or know where Alvarado's location.
