Driver Arrested For Crash That Injures Pedestrian

A pedestrian suffered critical injuries in a crash Friday evening in Southeast Portland.

Portland Police say the pedestrian was in the road near Southeast 146th and Stark Street around 6:40 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a pickup.

The driver, 64-year-old William C. Leptich, remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Leptick was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Assault in the Third Degree, and Reckless Driving. 

The injured pedestrian was transported to an area hospital by ambulance and remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment for injuries suffered during the crash.
