Searchers have found the body of David Yaghourmian. He’s the hiker who was reported missing on Monday.
A climber on Mount Hood reported finding the body Thursday morning.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says it appears Yaghmourian left the location where he was last seen by his hiking partner and took a wrong trail that led him up the mountain.
His body was found near the 8,600 foot level about a half mile northeast of Silcox Hut which is located on the mountain above Timberline Lodge.
Clackamas County Sheriff’s Sergeant Sean Collinson says Yaghmourian had started setting up a tent and it appears he fell 30 feet and may have injured himself. They believe he died from exposure.
The Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
