Comedian Katt Williams Charged With Assault

47-year-old Micah Sierra “Katt” Williams has been charged with a single count of assault in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor for an incident that happened Friday night.

Port of Portland police were called to at Atlantic Aviation, located in the 8000 block of Northeast Airport Way in Portland, Oregon.

During the investigation, law enforcement learned Williams allegedly assaulted the driver of a private, for hire transportation vehicle following an argument.

The argument was allegedly over transporting Williams and his dog to a performance at the Moda Center.

The driver suffered minor facial injuries that included swelling and cuts. The victim was treated and released by medical professionals at a local hospital.

Williams left the scene of the alleged assault in a separate vehicle before law enforcement arrived.

At 11:15 a.m. on Saturday October 6, 2018, Williams was taken into custody in the 1100 block of Southwest 2nd Avenue in Portland, Oregon.

Williams made his first court appearance Monday before Judicial Officer Bernadette H. Bignon.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. The court appointed Williams a criminal defense attorney. Judge Bignon also ordered Williams not have any contact with the named victim in this case.

The charging instrument filed in this case alleges that Williams intentionally, knowingly or recklessly caused physical injury to another individual.

Williams next court date is set for November 16, 2018 for a trial readiness hearing.

Williams was lodged into the Multnomah County Detention Center. His bail was set at $2,500. Upon arrest, law enforcement determined Williams had an active warrant out of Georgia. Subsequently, a fugitive hold was placed on Williams.
