Surf Swamps Van At Gearhart

The driver of a van with a trailer wasn’t able to get it off the beach at the Del Ray Beach access in Gearhart on Wednesday and the tide came in flooding the vehicle.

Thursday morning, Affordable Tow and Sons and Beaches 4X4 club worked to remove the van and trailer.

When crews arrived the van was buried approximately 3 feet in the sand.

Crews worked for approximately two hours and were able to remove the trailer, but were unable to remove the van before the tide came in.

They’ll continue work to remove the van when the tide goes out.

The owner of the vehicle is cooperating with law-enforcement and has continued to remain in the area and pick up any debris that washes on shore.
