Arsonist Torches School Play Structure

UPDATE: A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with arson in the burning of the playground.

The play structure at Park Place Elementary School in Oregon City was destroyed by arson early Monday morning.

The fire was reported around 2 a.m. When Clackamas County Fire arrived, they found the play structure on fire.  

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished, however, an investigation has revealed the fire was intentionally set and is being considered an arson.  

It is estimated the fire caused over $15,000 worth of damage.  No suspect(s) have been identified.
