The grandfather of a 23-year-old woman says she didn't make it out of a home that caught fire in Ridgefield Wednesday morning.

Clark County Fire battled the fully-involved house fire at 3:51 a.m. in the 29300 block of NW 41st Avenue.

The grandfather of the woman told KATU News his granddaughter didn't make it out of the fire that destroyed the home. He lives next door and says he doesn't know what started the fire.

Firefighters say they're taking the family member's word that the woman is still inside the home.

One man jumped from a second-story window to escape and broke his leg. Another man was able to make it out safely.

Fire crews  had to bring in tanks of water, because there wasn't a hydrant nearby.

Names have not been released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
