Motorcyclist Crashes After Fleeing Deputies

A McMinnville motorcyclist crashed after fleeing from Yamhill County Deputies on Wednesday.

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was monitoring traffic on Wallace Road near Alderman Road, about 4.5 miles south of Dayton, when a 2004 Honda motorcycle flew passed him at a high rate of speed.

The deputy tried to stop the motorcycle, but the rider sped up, topping at around 125 mph.

The motorcyclist slowed down to around 50 mph as he got into Dayton, but the rider lost control of his bike and hot a tree on 3rd Street.

The rider, later identified as 22-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say they found a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine in a container near the crash site.

Charges related to the attempt to elude police and the controlled substance found at the scene are expected to be filed against Gonzalez.
