Suspect Arrested In PSU Hit And Run

Portland Police have arrested a suspect in the hit and run Friday morning near Portland State University that injured three women.

61-year-old Greg Phillip Porter was arrested at Northeast 16th Avenue and Glisan Street.

A caller to 911 reported seeing a car similar to the one that was involved in the PSU hit and run. Police surrounded the car and took Porter into custody.

Porter was lodged at the Multnomah County jail on three counts each of Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Reckless Driving, and Fail to Perform the Duties of a Driver Injury. 

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the hit and run. They don’t know why it happened.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information about the suspect that may aid in this investigation. 

Witnesses say an SUV drove onto the sidewalk and accelerated hitting three women.

The three women are hospitalized. One woman is in critical condition, another woman is in serious condition and the third woman didn’t want her condition released.
