An assault led to a standoff Friday morning in Aloha.
Washington County Sheriff’s deputies were called to apartments located near Southwest 185th and Johnson Street where they found a man with critical injuries.
The 62-year-old man was taken to a hospital.
The suspect, a woman, was inside of an apartment and refused to come out. She's the roommate of the victim.
The Washington County Sheriff’s tactical team and negotiators responded. Several apartments were evacuated.
Around 2:30 p.m. 34-year-old Michel Roper was taken into custody after tactical officers broke into the room.
Roper is charged with assault in the second degree. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
Deputies have not released details about what happened to the man.
