Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Puppy Missing

A vehicle was stolen from St. Vincent Medical Center with a puppy inside. The vehicle was later recovered but the puppy is still missing.

On the afternoon of April 2, 2018, deputies investigated the theft of a stolen teal 1992 Honda Civic from the parking structure of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, located at 9205 Southwest Barnes Road in Portland.

Deputies learned the victim’s brown and black five-month-old Yorkshire Terrier, named Jedi, was inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

On April 4, 2018, 3 a.m., an alert deputy located the vehicle abandoned in the Cedar Hills Shopping Center parking lot. It was canvased for evidence and returned to the victim shortly after. Unfortunately, the missing puppy was not located.

Deputies have reviewed hospital security video footage and observed two suspects associated with a light-colored SUV. In the video, the SUV is seen stopping next to the Honda, one person gets out and enters the sedan, and then both vehicles later drive away.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help for information regarding the suspects or the location of the missing puppy. Anyone with information is asked to call non-emergency dispatch at (503) 629-0111.
