Portland Police were called to the Everyday Food Mart, located at 7020 Southeast Foster Road, on a report of a man threatening an employee with a knife.
As officers responded to the scene they learned the suspect had injured the woman with the knife. When officers arrived at the Everyday Food Mart they found the victim holding the suspect on the ground. Officers took the suspect into custody without incident.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and provided medical aid to the victim. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, 63-year-old Michael Delsman is charged with Assault in the First Degree.
