Suspect Sought In Salem Jewelry Theft

Salem Police detectives are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect who stole a ring valued at $12,000.00 from a local jewelry store.

The suspect entered Jackson Jewelers in downtown Salem at approximately 2:10 pm on February 6. After engaging the clerk in conversation and asking to see several rings, he took the ring while the clerk was distracted and left the store.

The ring is a "Hearts of Fire" ring valued at approximately $12,000.00. 

The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 50-55 years old, 5'09" tall and 170 lbs with gray hair, gray stubble facial hair and dark colored wire framed glasses. He was also described as missing the top of his right thumb.
