The Oregon Court of Appeals has upheld a $135,000 fine against the owners of Sweet Cakes bakery in Gresham for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

Melissa and Aaron Klein, the owners of Sweet Cakes, said baking the cake would violate their religious beliefs.

The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries ruled the Kleins were in violation of the state's public accomodations law that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

The Kleins have not said whether they plan to appeal the ruling.
