Victim's Son Arrested For Fatal Stabbing

A tip to Crime Stoppers helped Portland Police locate Tyler Nees for the alleged murder of his father.

64-year-old Brian Nees was stabbed in his apartment near Southeast 72nd and Woodstock. He walked to the Mt. Scott Pub to get help, but he died at a hospital.

Acting on a tip to Crime Stoppers, Portland Police found Nees near Northwest 23rd Avenue and Lovejoy Street. After the arrest, officers discovered Nees was in possession of a realistic-looking replica firearm in his waistband. 

Nees was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Nees is also being held on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine (felony) and a parole violation. Nees will be arraigned on Friday in Multnomah County Court.
