Police Seek Suspects In I-5 Vehicle Attacks

Since early September, Oregon State Police has responded to ten separate reports of a variety of objects being thrown at passing motorists from a walkway adjacent to I-205. 

The area in questions is the Exit 289 I-5 SB which curves, goes underneath I-5, and becomes I-205 NB. The exit ramp is adjacent to a footpath that travels behind the Martinazzi Village apartments in Tualatin. 

There are multiple paths connecting to it which gives access to I-205 and I-5. 

The items being thrown have ranged from apples, rocks, branches, logs and pumpkins. The descriptions of the individuals responsible have ranged from early teens to early twenties in age with a variety of different clothing descriptions. 

The items being thrown have hit passing vehicles have caused damage. The most recently was a large rock. 

No one has been hurt.

On several of the incidents the suspects were seen fleeing the area into nearby trees and/or up a hillside and out of sight.
