Former Soccer Coach Faces New Charges

On Friday December 8, 2017, 38-year-old Luis Edward Trybom was arrested by the United States Marshal's Fugitive Task Force as part of a Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Sex Crimes Unit ongoing investigation. 

Trybom was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Luring a Minor, Online Sexual Corruption in the First Degree, Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct (four counts), Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree (four counts), Sex Abuse in the Third Degree (eight counts), Fail to Register as a Sex Offender - misdemeanor, Rape in the First Degree and Sex Abuse in the Second Degree (seven counts). 

Trybom is a registered sex offender in connection with a 1997 conviction for Sex Abuse in the Third Degree and was arrested June 28, 2017 by Portland Police on multiple charges of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct. 

After Trybom's June 28th arrest, additional victims were located and later interviewed. Friday’s arrest was the result of investigations that started after the additional victims were contacted. 

Trybom is the former director and coach of the Portland Soccer Academy.
