The Broadway Bridge will be closed to motor vehicles from 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 18 until as late as 7 a.m. on Sunday, November 19 for work related to the replacement of century-old parts that open the drawbridge. The bridge will remain open to bicyclists, pedestrians and the Portland Streetcar, except during openings of the drawbridge.
The work will require several long openings of the drawbridge at night. Bicyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid delays by using alternate routes such as the Steel Bridge. TriMet's 17-Broadway/Holgate bus route will detour to the Steel Bridge during the bridge closure.
The Portland Trail Blazers play the Sacramento Kings at the Moda Center Saturday night. The tip-off is 7 p.m., so the bridge closure will affect traffic leaving the game.
