Portland Police are investigating the death of a man near SW 10th and Montgomery.
Around 1 a.m. witnesses heard a fight and then several shots were fired.
PSU Campus Police found a male victim in the street. Medics say the man died at the scene.
Witnesses say several people ran after the shooting. Police searched the area, but were not able to find a suspect.
Evidence of gunfire was located in the area near the Subway restaurant.
While there was a shooting, Police are not releasing the cause of death until the medical examiner conducts an autopsy. The victim’s name has not been released. The man was not a student at PSU.
PSU security sent a message to students about the shooting. It did not affect classes.
