On September 13, 2017, at 11:48 a.m. the Beaverton Police responded to a vehicle crash in the parking lot of Hearthstone Senior Living on SW Hart Rd. This crash involved three vehicles and one fatality.
Beaverton Police say it appears from the preliminary investigation that a 94-year-old female driver was attempting to park in the parking lot and lost control of her vehicle. She backed into a parked car and then struck a tree head on and got turned around in the parking lot while the vehicle was still accelerating and struck an occupied park car. This impact caused her vehicle to flip over onto its top. Sadly the 92-year-old female passenger in her car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and the occupant of the last vehicle she struck were both transported to a local area hospital for treatment of nonlife threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
