A Portland Police pursuit of a robbery suspect ended with gunfire near Northeast 55th and Davis.
The suspect was driving a pickup. Several officers were involved in the pursuit that lasted 25 blocks.
Witnesses say they heard three shot.
The suspect is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. A Police officer was treated for minor injuries.
The suspect is accused of stealing the truck and robbing a bank in Aloha.
This is the first officer involved shooting since the Portland City Council eliminated the 48 Hour Rule. It required that investigators wait 48 hours before interviewing officers in use of deadly force cases. Police say the officer in this shooting will be investigated within 48 hours.
