Sunday afternoon, a motorcyclist was riding on Britenbush Road near mile post 18.5 when he crashed into a black bear.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital.
The black bear died at the scene and was removed by the U.S. Forest Service.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says drivers on rural roads in the Cascades need to be aware of animals that could cross their path.
