LifeWorks NW is a Portland metro area nonprofit that serves more than 21,000 people annually, providing mental health, addiction and prevention services toward well being for all. One arm of its services is its Children's Relief Nurseries, which focus on parenting and early intervention as solutions to prevent child abuse and neglect. It is sobering to realize that every eight minutes there is a report of child abuse or neglect across Oregon.

Through LifeWorks NW’s signature event: “Portland’s Original Iron Chef,” it brings to light the issue of child abuse and neglect and raises funds needed to continue its work to ensure healthy children and families across our region.
“Portland’s Original Iron Chef” will be held the evening of Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Portland Art Museum Kridel Grand Ballroom. It features prominent local chefs preparing signature appetizers for attendees to taste and then vote for their favorite chef to be named the reigning "Iron Chef." The event also includes; live and silent auctions and more! Only 400 tickets available at $125 each – and go on sale beginning Wednesday, August 16 at www.lifeworksnw.org.
