Cyclist Hurt In Hit And Run

On Friday, August 18, 2017 at about 7:31pm., Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies responded to calls of an injury hit and run crash near the 4000 block of S Elliott Prairie Rd. in unincorporated Woodburn. 

Callers reported that a male had been hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle and he was seriously injured. 

The vehicle involved in the crash had fled the scene prior to the first 911 caller arriving on scene. Deputies arrived with fire and medical personnel and rendered aid to the victim. 

The victim was eventually transported by LifeFlight to OHSU. 

The Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit and the Criminal Reconstruction and Forensics Team investigated the crash. 

Investigators recovered evidence on scene left by the suspect vehicle. 

TIPS SOUGHT -- Investigators want to hear from anyone with information about vehicles or bicyclists in the area of S Elliott Prairie Rd. in Woodburn between the hours of 6:00pm and 7:30pm-- as well as any vehicles with fresh unexplained damage that could be the result of a hit-and-run. Additionally, anyone with video surveillance systems in the area of the crash are asked to call the sheriff's office right away.
