The suspect in the MAX train stabbings in Portland had a court appearance Tuesday morning.
The judge set a date for a hearing ahead of Jeremy Christian's trial.
Christian is charged with the murders of two men on a MAX train and the attempted murder of a third man.
They were trying to intervene when Christian was harassing two young Muslim women.
Leaving the courtroom Christian shouted "There are no heroes in this case."
