Thursday around 11:30 p.m., Milwaukie Police responded to the area of SE Harrison Street and SE 36th Avenue, on reports of a vehicle crashing into a residence.
68-year-old William Lee Lawrence was driving his vehicle on SE Harrison Street when he crashed into a parked vehicle.
Lawrence got out of his vehicle, but did not put his car in park. Lawrence's vehicle then rolled backwards down SE Harrison Street into a nearby residence, damaging street signs, a fence, and severing a NW Natural gas line.
No tenants or witnesses were injured.
Clackamas County Fire and crew members from NW Natural helped shut the gas off and fixed the broken line.
Lawrence was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown minor injuries. He is being charged with DUII.
