Clackamas County Fire District 1 crews responded to five fires that were burning along the southbound lanes of Highway 213 Wednesday afternoon.
The fires were burning over a one mile stretch between Redlands Road and Beavercreek Road.
One caller to 911 said a car that was on fire was setting the fires. Another called said a person was walking along the road setting the fires.
Investigators believe a car that was dragging a muffler sparked the fires.
One section involved a power pole that supported a high tension line, so PGE was called to the scene to shut the power down as firefighters worked.
All the fires we brought under control and no structures were threatened and the power pole was also undamaged.
