Portland Police Bureau Robbery detectives are investigating multiple armed robberies that occurred at bars in the early morning hours of Monday July 10, 2017. The Greeley Avenue Bar, Sandy Hut, and The Hilt were all robbed at gunpoint by black male suspects. While suspect descriptions and methods are similar, detectives have not definitively confirmed that these three robberies are related or are related to other bar robberies that have been reported recently.

At 12:48 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Greeley Avenue Bar, located at 5421 North Greeley Avenue, on the report of a robbery. Officers arrived in the area and spoke to employees and patrons who told police that two black males, one armed with a handgun, demanded money, cell phones, and wallets. Nobody was injured and the suspects left without incident.

At 2:03 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the Sandy Hut, located at 1430 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, on the report of a robbery. Officers arrived in the area and contacted employees and patrons who told police that one black male entered the bar, armed with a handgun, demanding money. A bar security employee intervened and the suspect ran out of the bar and was last seen running eastbound on Northeast Couch Street, accompanied by another black male.

At 2:28 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Hilt Bar, located at 1934 Northeast Alberta Street, on the report of a robbery. Officers arrived in the area and spoke to employees and patrons who told police that two black males, both armed with handguns, demanded money, cell phones, and wallets.
