Oregon lawmakers are getting their first look at a transportation package.
The $5.3 billion seven year plan would increase the gas tax 4-cents a gallon in 2018 and then 6-cents a gallon over a four year period.
Vehicle registration fees would increase from $13 to $110 depending on your vehicle’s MPG.
News cars would have a tax of half a percent of the vehicle’s cost.
The money will go toward a variety of transportation projects.
The Legislature begins consideration on the plan Saturday.
