Police Seek Tips In Bald Eagle Shooting

Wednesday morning, Oregon State Police responded to the area of Old Highway 47 and Looking Glass Drive, which is north of the town of Gaston, for a report of an injured Bald Eagle.

The injured Bald Eagle was initially reported last week, but was able to fly away and could not be captured.

Wednesday morning, Oregon State Police located the injured Bald Eagle after following it through thick brush, a knee deep swampy marsh area and a short distance through a field before it was finally captured.

The injured Bald Eagle was taken to the Audubon Society where it was evaluated and determined that its injury was likely caused by a gunshot wound.
