The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is asking for tips in a string of arsons along Southeast 82nd Drive in Clackamas.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, Clackamas Fire District #1's Truck 8 responded to multiple fires that are believed to be intentionally set:
* INCIDENT 1: The first fire was at the Department of Human Services (DHS) building (16440 SE 82nd Dr. in unincorporated Clackamas County). Clackamas Fire's Truck 8 arrived to find a small pile of garbage burning on the north side of the DHS/CrossFit Timber building.
* INCIDENT 2: While responding, CCOM dispatchers advised Truck 8 of a second fire -- an additional dumpster fire behind Elmer's Restaurant (16087 SE 82nd Dr.). Engine 4 was dispatched to the Elmer's fire.
Truck 8 was cleared of the first incident and recalled Engine 4, and Sheriff's Office and Clackamas Fire investigators were requested.
* INCIDENT 3: Later in the morning of Friday, May 26, Truck 8 was dispatched to a small fire in the landscaping on the east side of ProBuild (15877 SE 98th Ave.). Truck 8 arrived and found the fire had been extinguished by an employee with a dry chemical extinguisher.
* INCIDENT 4: Investigators soon learned there was an additional arson incident the day before (on Thursday, May 25) -- a dumpster fire at Pacific Pride (10011 SE Hwy. 212). Investigators believe it is related to the May 26 incidents.
