Police Seek Attempted Kidnapping Suspect

Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Beaverton Police responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping involving a 16-year-old female. The incident occurred in the 5800 block of SW Erickson Ave. 

The victim reported that she was walking on SW Erickson Ave toward Sw Allen Blvd when a man passed her on the sidewalk going the opposite direction. The victim then heard someone running toward her and was grabbed by the man who had walked past her. The man had grabbed her by the arm with his right hand and threatened to hurt her while holding a knife in his left hand. The man was trying to force her to a car parked in an apartment complex on SW Erickson when a woman walked out onto the sidewalk from the apartment complex. The man let go of the victim's arm, and she ran to her apartment as the man ran to his car and left the area driving north on SW Erickson. The victim was not physically injured during this incident. 

The suspect is described as a white, adult, male, 5'6", chubby and in his 30's with red hair. He was wearing prescription style glasses, gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue shirt and gray shorts possibly with a white stripe on the shorts. His vehicle is described as a dark- colored sedan.
