MAX Stabbing Suspect Faces 9 Charges

The man accused in the deadly MAX train stabbing last Friday that killed two men and injured a third used his court appearance shout his message.

Jeremy Christian faces nine charges in the incident. They include two counts of Aggravated Murder, one count of Attempted Aggravated Murder, one count of Assault, three counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Intimidation.

Christian shouted: “Death to the enemies of America. Leave this country if you hate our freedoms,” and “Free speech or die Portland. You got no safe place. This is America. Get out if you don’t like free speech.”

The surviving victim, Micah Fletcher, was in the courtroom. There was a disturbance in the hallway and he was escorted out of the courthouse through a separate exit for his own safety.
