A fire in an underground equipment vault for Pacific Power left 2,400 customers in the dark Monday evening.
The actual number of people affected is much higher than 2,400, because that number reflects businesses, hotel and apartment buildings.
Pacific Power says it could be 9 p.m. before the power is restored, because of the difficulty working in the underground vaults.
