Monday around 8:15 p.m. a boat crashed into a pylon of the Glenn Jackson Bridge.
Deputies recovered two people from the water, and immediately began CPR on the female boater. Crews from Port of Portland Fire Department arrived quickly and assisted deputies in their life saving efforts.
The female victim was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center via ambulance where she later died as a result of her injuries.
The male boater was taken to a Vancouver area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, and is being interviewed by investigators. Neither of the boaters were wearing life vests at the time of the crash.
Members of the East County Vehicular Crash Team are on scene assisting in the investigation of this crash.
