No Turn Signal, Big Meth Bust

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017 an OSP Trooper stopped a 1996 Ford Taurus bearing a California license plate for a turn signal violation northbound on I-5 near milepost 243, which is in Marion County.

During the contact with the two occupants, the Trooper suspected criminal activity and requested consent to search, which was granted. The search revealed approximately 14 pounds of methamphetamine in a garbage bag in the trunk of the car. The driver, 47 year old Arturo Lua Carbajal and passenger, 54 year old Ernesto Chavez-Cruz were both arrested and lodged at the Marion County jail for possession and distribution of methamphetamine.
